Best free Australian Horse Racing Tips sites? September 30th, 2009
Are there any good 100% free tips sites?
In my view its a definitive NO. I challenge any tipster to put their own money where their mouth is and back every selection they make public and show a profit over a 12 month period. Not bloody likely!
You may find that a tipster can have a good day from time to time and this is correlative to favourites winning around half the races on the card.
It has been proven time and time again that over all the percentage of favourites that win on any given week rarely exceeds 33% which leaves a staggering 2 thirds of the time where short priced horses don’t salute the judge.
I could go on and on but I wont. In short it is always better to do your own homework. Never bet on every race because you will lose. Only choose races that you can get a clear perspective on and always ignore the odds. Good Luck.

Usually you get what you pay for.
But be careful not to pay any money, unless you
can have a free trial or something first.
Otherwise try picking them yourself.
Here are some free sites to try.

http://www.racenet.com.au has free tips and you can pay for ratings and speed maps. They have heaps of information to leading up to major meetings with their own tips, and tips from all major australian bookmakers. And they work hard at it to, I went to trackwork at Randwick on Tuesday morning and a few of the guys were there watching track work and getting all the times down and stuff.

I actually asked a very similar question recently. I was pointed to http://tipstofollow.blogspot.com It is interesting because it actually measures each tipsters performance and posts it every week. The site is independent of the tipsters. The statistics are very interesting too. This way you know if the tipster is worth following.
Good luck.
