Is this a good horse racing betting system? February 27th, 2009

1. look at the odds board and find out who the 1st two betting favorites are in any race.

2. If the 2nd choice is 3-1 odds or more and every other horse is 4-1 or higher you be on the favorite in win only ( regardless of the odds).

3. if the 2nd choice is less then 3-1 do not bet this race

4. if the 3rd choice is 3-1 odds or less do not bet this race.

Just wondering if anybody have used this system or what people think of this system??

Well…

#4. If the 3rd choice is 3-1 odds or less, don't bet. Wouldn't #3 already take care of that? If 3rd is 3-1 or less, than 2nd choice has to be 3-1 or less as well, right?

It looks like you are only betting if one horse is a really big favorite, and then taking the big favorite to win. I hope it didn't take a long time to come up with that strategy.

I'm sure lots of people who know nothing about racing "Umm? I know nothing, so just bet the big favorite, no matter the odds" have used that technique. Logic would say it isn't good, but I can't speak from experience here.

    Really, it isn't.

A horse's, or football team's odds do not accurately assess their chances all of the time. This is the point of gambling, seeing where the mistakes have been made in the prices. There is no substitute for race and sport analysis, you cannot just pick a number. You may get lucky on the odd occasion, but it is a fast trip to the poorhouse.

On my site SportsBack.co.uk, I make consistent profits with one guarantee - if I lose, you pay nothing. Absolutely nothing. Slight spam I realise, but it really is a no win no fee scenario.
